The ability to maintain our body in a balanced position depends on the ability of the brain to integrate sensory input from the inner ear, eyes, joint, muscle, and skin sensors, and the circulatory system. If this sensory integration occurs normally, your body will be able to move in an efficient and safe manner. However, if there is abnormal sensory input to the brain, a variety of symptoms can occur.
Most of us recognize we need a certain physical capacity to participate in activities of daily living and extra-curricular activities. In order to navigate successfully through the different decades of our lives, we need to make sure our body is up to the task. The most important part of ensuring successful participation is having adequate cardio vascular functioning. At Integrated Therapy, we have embraced the fact our bodies need to be trained sufficiently to prevent injury, or if an injury were to occur, be able to fully recover.
In order to help you achieve the sufficiency necessary, exercise will be part of each treatment at Integrated Therapy. Additionally, our staff will work with you personally on exercises and will design a custom exercise program which should give you a path to lifelong physical health.
Ultrasound imaging uses sound waves to produce pictures of muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints throughout the body. It is used to help diagnose sprains, strains, tears and other soft tissue conditions. Ultrasound is safe, noninvasive and does not use ionizing radiation. This allows our clinical team to make a precise diagnosis based on real time assessment and suggest an optimal treatment plan.
This procedure requires little to no special preparation.
